Insight into the Congress Virtual Opening

On 24 August in an improvised studio in Rīga Stradiņš University led by the President of the Congress, Professor Juris Salaks and Congress General Secretary Assist. Professor Ieva Lībiete the 47th Anniversary Congress of the ISHM was opened virtually! 

In special video speeches, the congress was greeted by RSU Rector Professor Aigars Pētersons, cardiac surgeon, RSU Professor Pēteris Stradiņš and Pauls Stradiņš Medical History Museum Director Kaspars Vanags.

Congress opening speeches followed starting with Carlos Viesca Treviño, president of the association (Mexico), then Secretary General of the Association Professor Dana Baran (Romania) and then President of the Anatomy & Beyond Congress Conference Pascale Pollier (Belgium).

The Congress was also addressed by several national delegates via Zoom webinar tool.

Participants from Latvia, Brazil, Italy, USA, Mexico, Venezuela, Israel, Portugal, Russian Federation, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Turkey, Canada,  Greece, Singapore, Lithuania, Sweden, Argentina, namely, from all over the world watched the live stream of the event!

The mood of the opening ceremony of the congress was especially enhanced by performance of Agnese Egliņa (piano) Liene-Andreta Kalnciems (organ).
