Health and Safety

The 47th ISHM will be held as hybrid event. For those attending in-person in Riga  - with additional health and safety protocols in place to meet all local regulations at the time of the meeting.

To enter the ISHM venue, you will need to present one of the following:

  •     A certificate of full vaccination
  •     A certificate of recovery from SARS-CoV-2 infection within the last 6 months

For participants from the EU, these items are incorporated in your EU digital COVID certificate, which will be scanned prior to your first entrance. You will then receive a badge certifying that you can enter ISHM events. The badge is personal and must be worn continuously during the meeting.
For participants from England, Wales and Northern Ireland, you can present your NHS COVID pass for scanning.
For participants from other countries, please print your certificates for checking and validating individually at the entrance.

Covid - 19 and travelling to Latvia

Entry to Latvia from European Union Member States and the European Economic Area Member States, the Swiss Confederation is permitted for "urgent and essential" reasons only. These are defined as: work, training, studies, family reunion, in order to receive medical services, transit, accompanying a minor, return to one’s permanent place of residence, attending a funeral.

People who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 (the full vaccination course, i.e., fifteen days after both doses of Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines or a single dose of the Janssen vaccine) will be allowed to disregard self-isolation after their entry to Latvia from the EU, the countries of the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom

Travelling to the city centre from the airport

A one-way ticket costs 2 EUR.  It can be purchased from the bus driver or at a Narvesen newsstand.

It costs approximately 15–20 EUR to travel from the airport to the city centre. Although there are many taxi companies that provide their services at the airport, we recommend that you choose Baltic Taxi or Red Cab.

Public transportation in Rīga

The main provider of public transportation in Rīga is Rīgas Satiksme LLC. The company runs buses, trolleybuses and trams on more than 80 routes that cover the entire city. All public transport types have strict timetables (usually from 5:00 to 0:00) and, unless anything extraordinary happens, are highly reliable. Timetables can be found at each public transport stop as well on Rīgas Satiksme’s homepage.

Tickets

We suggest that you purchase tickets for a certain number of trips or a timed, week-long ticket that is valid for 5 consecutive business days on all routes. More information about the public transportation tickets.

Organisers have not made any pre-arangements with the hotels, therefore you are kindly asked to do the bookings via your agencies or booking engines. We suggest you to book the deals with last minute cancellation possible.

Visas

Congress organisers will prepare an invitation letter upon request, and will help with obtaining official invitation letters from the Immigration Office. The cost for obtaining the official invitation letter is from 35-70 EUR and must be paid in advance.
